Fashion is Architecture:  it is a matter of Proportion”  COCO CHANEL

The world of design has no boundaries. The synergy between the world of fashion, architecture and furnishings, photography, paintings and media are blurring.  But Chanel has pointed to the most important aspect where these lines cross:  PROPORTION.

It is here, that all the arts come together in the perennial search for perfection.  Design is fashion.  Fashion, is vision.  Photography is architecture.  Paintings are images but not photographs.  Proportions happen inside and outside, up, down, and all around.  They are part of our human experience of a building, a room, a view. The relationship between all the arts affects our passion for design and where we express it:  The Interiors of our homes, gardens, rooftops or structures that invites us to come in and experience them.  Our relationship to our homes, our rooms, or spaces is what makes Chanel’s statement so important.  It is a matter of proportion in how we relate to a design that reveals the designer’s intentions.  This makes the journey through the PORTAL so interesting, because it is ever -changing;  you never know what you will find, until you get there.
