New trends in Lifestyles, home decor, fabrics, furnishings and the latest gossip about how and who has designed the latest properties in Hollywood are all part of the buzz of WEST WEEK which I have been attending since 2012.  The trend in blending media, tech, fashion, and culture are always expressed in how an interior designer creates a home.  This year was no exception, with each designer connecting to the fashion runway, the twitter buzz and even television shows like “Madmen” all are fodder for designer searching for a new idea.

Then, there are the French.  Hands down, a wander through the sections of Paris that are home to many interiors firms and decoration stores evoke the lifestyles of an elegant French Chateau or a little “tweak” on what is considered “traditional”.

These beautiful and fun chairs are by our favorite French designer, Thierry Yves Barbier who has been featured in Marie Claire and in a London Gallery. His approach to a chair is much like a couture designer approaches a gown collection:  Rich colors, beautiful structures, and arresting combinations all designed to dress up a room.  His custom made work features both hand painted and deco-page surfaces as well as unique fabrics all contribute to this idea of a chair (that is so much more than a chair).
