Beauty Junkie Favs for Spring

Review, Refresh and Renew your Spring Make-Up to take advantage of the trends and to give yourself fresh Spring look.  Spring runways had both bold graphic eye colors (more of a theatrical look that we don’t really think should go beyond the runway) and there was a strong emphasis on glowing skincare, bold lips with neutral eyes.  The cheeks were both rosy or coral is reminiscent of the 1980’s club girl look.

Shiny beautiful skin was everywhere so a highlighter powder, glowing BB creme to layer on is how to achieve this perfect backdrop for your look. To start, we like either a sport creme with sunscreen in it as a basic or you can move up to a full-on gorgeous foundation such as Armani’s Collection or YSL’s Touche Eclat.  These are especially good for photography or a “Red Carpet” moment you may have as the coverage can be built up from translucent to more matte. Eyes always need some emphasis no matter what your age, so you can go from 1980’s edgy bright color or take on the smokey eye in a brighter spring tone like plum or aubergine.  Laura Mercier has new eye shadow collections that are low on sparkles and  make your eyes look defined and smokey. For a more runway look, her new collections have a pure selection of colors not seen in nature to give you that “surprise” eye accent. Cheeks in a creme blush to give you the ultra-chic moist shiny cheek is where the collections shined on the runway.  Any shade of pink or coral that brings up your own skin tone should be blended over a good moisturizer for a youthful look and picking up on a nude lip or a stronger color in combination is the way to go.  Less, is definitely more so choose your accent area on your face, and stick to it.

Adding to your make-up bag a set of new tools is also critical so that you can line, buff, and shade your way to Spring Perfection!
